- Transaction reinforces the ambition of GETEC to be a leader in the industrial energy efficiency sector in Italy and expand its presence in Iberia
- Combined expertise drives scalable decarbonisation of energy infrastructure
- Closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval
Magdeburg/Milan, 14 July 2026 – GETEC, a leading European provider of decarbonised energy and infrastructure solutions, has signed an agreement to acquire Cogenio, a distributed energy company that supports commercial and industrial clients with their decarbonisation plans across southern Europe. The transaction comprises the purchase of a 100 per cent stake in Cogenio Italy and 100 per cent of Cogenio Iberia and was negotiated with the majority shareholder Infracapital.
With the support of its long-term shareholders since inception in 2018, Cogenio has grown into a scaled, pan-regional platform supporting a diversified client base with its decarbonisation needs.
By acquiring Cogenio, GETEC adds to its existing portfolio of industrial assets, reinforces its position in Italy across the industrial, public and real estate sectors, and expands into Iberia. Cogenio’s engineering expertise, customer relationships and strong regional footprint will further deepen the operational presence of GETEC and support its strategy to scale decarbonisation solutions for its customers across Southern Europe.
GETEC will be able to serve energy intensive sectors in Italy and Iberia, including chemical and life sciences, data centres, food and dairy, healthcare, real estate, automotive and public sector customers. Customers benefit from optimised energy solutions and advanced digital capabilities within an integrated energy ecosystem that improves efficiency and supports decarbonisation objectives.
The closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approval in Italy.
Pierre-Alain Graf, CEO of GETEC:

During our ownership period, Cogenio has broadened its capabilities to include solutions such as solar PV and heat recovery, while developing a diversified client base across multiple sectors. Through an impactful eight-year partnership, we have provided Cogenio with a strong foundation for its next stage of development under GETEC.”
