1. FOSSIL TO GREEN REPLACING HEATING OIL SYSTEMS WITH FORWARD-LOOKING AND CLIMATE-FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS

GETEC's "FOSSIL to GREEN" product portfolio includes various models for the modernization of central heating systems. The key factor in the development of these new solutions is the planned introduction of a CO2 price in accordance with the Fuel Emission Trading Act (BEHG) from 2021. This affects oil heating systems particularly strongly. The installation of such systems is prohibited from 2026 for climate protection reasons. If the resulting additional costs for an exemplary 65m² apartment in 2021 are around €75 per year, these costs will amount to around €150 per year in 2025.

A partial participation of real estate owners in these costs is currently under political discussion.
Property owners can benefit from attractive subsidies for energy-efficient refurbishment of oil-fired heating systems, which the government is aiming for. Replacing heating oil not only contributes to climate protection, but also to a sustainable reduction in heating costs.

2. GETEC GREEN EHEATING - SECTOR COUPLING AT ITS BEST

With a clear focus on the findings and objectives of the energy transformation, GETEC has developed an economical, sustainable and tenant-friendly solution for replacing the old off-peak storage heaters. With Green eHeating, modern storage heaters are fully charged with green electricity. The resulting reduction in CO2 emissions for an average apartment is equivalent to up to five tons of CO2 per year. For comparison: This corresponds to the annual emissions of about two cars! Not only does the environment benefit from the concept, but also the landlord, because off-peak storage heaters are increasingly becoming a burden for owners. In addition to the rising maintenance costs of the obsolete devices, which cannot be passed on to the tenants, there is a lower rent level, since conventional off-peak storage heaters are becoming increasingly less attractive for tenants.

TENANTS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN CO2 SAVINGS

A further advantage of the Green eHeating concept is the short modernization period, because often a changeover to conventional heating systems requires high construction and financial expenditure. Usually, water distribution systems with radiators have to be installed in the buildings and old storage heaters have to be disposed of at the expense of the owner. With Green eHeating, landlords can have apartments and buildings modernized while they are still inhabited, eliminating further planning and financing costs. The contracting model foreseen by the concept includes replacement of the storage heaters, including the disposal of old appliances as well as smooth operation and service and a reliable supply of green electricity. This means that there are no additional investment or maintenance costs for landlords and property management companies. Something that is also advantageous for tenants and landlords: conversion to the Green eHeating system can be carried out at any time - regardless of the season.
